Community and Activities

This week, ECA’s started across the whole AP2 campus and there has been a flourish of enthused students embracing new activities, taking up sports as well as those loyally returning to help out at ECA’s they signed up to last year.

In particular, the Community ECA’s have seen a significant increase in participants with over 360 students taking part in a range of activities. Here’s just a snapshot of the week so far: On Monday, Mr English started off by talking with a growing number of students about the Thien Phuoc Home for Children with Disability and explained to them what to expect and how to prepare for their future visits. Wednesday saw Mr Pollicutt encouraging an already oversubscribed club of students from Year 10 and above. There was a great sense of buzzing around his room as students prepared making brightly coloured Lanterns to take next week to celebrate Moon Festival at the Children’s Cancer Ward. Mrs Gillmore’s Cross Stitch club was well attended and productivity levels were high with enthusiastic students wanting to carry on their craft at home. In other ECAs, teachers outlined what could happen throughout the term with emphasis on the students to exchange ideas, brainstorm, plan and prepare for making their club a success.

As you can see, our students have embraced their Community ECAs and we are already working on providing more Community ECAs for next term so more can get involved.
