House system

The House system was introduced to BIS as a platform to promote healthy competition, student leadership and involvement across the three campuses.  There are four houses: Saigon, Hue, Hanoi and Dalat and students can contribute to their houses by competing in sports competitions, talent shows, drama performances and science challenges as well as a range of new activities that will be introduced this year.  The results of these competitions, as well as the number of commendations earned by students for academic and community achievements, are totalled up at the end of the year to reveal the winner of the House Cup.

In each year group, a student is chosen to represent their house as House Captain.  This year, to develop this role at AP2, we have asked students to submit a 100 word application via email explaining why they are the right person for the job.  Three students in each year group will be shortlisted by their Heads of House, and voted for by the students in their houses.  Such a selection process helps to prepare students from year 7 upwards for university application procedures, and the world of work.

All students have been encouraged to apply if they think they have leadership potential and can motivate, organise and communicate with the members of their house, inspiring them to get involved with all the house activities that will run this year.
