Vietnamese history trip

We went to the History Museum on Tuesday 23rd April . The museum was first called the Revolution Museum but since 1998 in the celebration of Ho Chi Minh City’s 300th birthday its name has been changed into the Ho Chi Minh city Museum.

The museum was built in 1885-1890  and designed by Alfred Foulhoux, a French architect. The building’s design is similar to the construction’s classical style in Paris in Louis 14th Palace.

We visited a lot of rooms with various objects displayed such as the industries in Saigon, the trade and ports, the revolution struggles from 1930-1975 and the reminders of patriotic soldiers.

I was given an insight into fascinating objects, pictures and paintings. I was impressed by a large painting in the room of the Vietnamese war. It was the painting of a soldier coming out from the tank after the victory was announced. She wears soldier uniform standing on top, holding a Vietnam flag. She is really young, must be around her twenties. Her long hair flows in the wind. She stands out bright and  brave like the sun in the sky.

The whole trip was to learn about the bright history of our country also the courage and the patriotism of the Vietnamese that gave us a peaceful life.
