Geography in action

The Year 11s were experiencing some hands on geography during their lessons this week as they were given the task of making scale models of coastal sand dune systems. We had been learning about sand dunes in class time, and by creating models of the systems they had learnt about they hopefully developed a deeper understanding of them. You can see the results for yourself! Some groups even included animals into their models although I’m still not convinced that that you would find hippopotami on a coastal sand dune. Perhaps we’ll find some in a few weeks when we head to Mui Ne for the Y11 geography trip.
