New Teacher Community Service Project Visits

Last week, as part of the induction for the new teachers, we took time to visit three of the school Community Service projects. The new teachers were divided over locations:
· Anh Minh School for the Hearing Impaired (AP1 – Year 2 – Anh Minh School Exchange Project)
· The Love School (AP2 – ECA – The Love School Club)
· Christina Noble Foundation (TX – Year 1 – Christina Noble play dates Project)

The trips briefly allowed the campus co-ordinators an opportunity to open the eyes of the new teachers to the Community Service program, as well as highlighting the diverse and interesting aspects of the education we offer students at BIS. The session highlighted a plethora of social and political issues occurring in the local communities within close proximity to the school. Hopefully they left feeling inspired to be involved!
