The Huynh Van Ngoi School Club

In this activity, I join other members of the club to go to Huynh Van Ngoi, a nearby local primary school to teach English to Primary students. We plan and organise lessons, resources and activities for the children. In the teaching sessions, we sometimes split into small groups in order to help each and every student in the class to improve his/her English.

Timing and scheduling is a small problem, as sessions can be missed due to the students at Huynh Van Ngoi school having examinations or special events. Different levels of English within one small class also act as a challenge to our teaching session, as some children know more than their peers, while some can’t keep up with the rest of the class.

Ms. Mai and Mr. Brownrigg, who are in charge of the “Teaching English at Huynh Van Ngoi School” club, play a role in helping me progress and learn during this activity. They give sound advice on preparing,   activities, preparing materials and how to employ effective teaching methods.

In my opinion, by participating in the club I have helped children at Huynh Van Ngoi School improve their English. I believe that the time we dedicate each week to go to Huynh Van Ngoi School benefits the       children by providing them with fun, interactive and hopefully effective.
